Faculty Development

The Program offers opportunities to participating Hispanic faculty to improve professional teaching and research skills. It is intended to enhance their opportunity for promotion, tenure, and retention in the dental school.

• Workshops to improve teaching skills are offered during the year, in conjunction with the UTHSCSA Academic Informatics Division of Educational Research and Development (ERD).

• Opportunities to participate in development of research projects under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

• Grant writing skills enhancement, through participation in workshops that provide information on research essentials, basic structure of grant writing, and encourage preparation and submission of grant applications.
